British robotics startup Humanoid has secured $152 million in Series A funding at a $1.35 billion post-money valuation.
The AI company develops humanoid robots for industrial applications and, just two years after its launch, has become one of the fastest-growing robotics companies globally.
“In just two years, we’ve gone from an idea to becoming Europe’s first pure-play humanoid robotics unicorn, partnered with some of the world’s leading industrial companies and built one of the strongest pipelines in the industry,” said Artem Sokolov, Founder and CEO.
“What we’ve accomplished in such a short time would typically take a decade.”
The latest investment brings Humanoid’s total funding to $270 million.
Humanoid will use the new funding to launch its next-generation robotics platform, begin mass manufacturing of wheel-based robots, expand its AI software platform KinetIQ, and grow commercial deployments with industrial customers.
The round was led by Prime Movers Lab, a deep tech venture capital firm investing in breakthrough technologies, with participation from German industrial giants Schaeffler and Bosch, as well as Taiwan’s Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital, and Paris-based Aglaé Ventures.
“Humanoid robotics will be one of the defining technologies of the next decade, reshaping how commercial and industrial work gets done,” said Zia Huque, General Partner at Prime Movers Lab.
“We expect the field to consolidate around a handful of category leaders across the US, Europe, and China. Humanoid AI will be one of a small cadre of robotics companies that will define humanoid robotics in Europe and beyond.”
